Council of Saudi Chamber No. (30629) date (2/9/1438), In the (WAHIS Interface) of
the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), which reports the Infectious
hypodermal and haematopoietic Necrosis
in the Republic of Ecuador, the health status of shrimp for diseases (Infection
with yellow head virus genotype 1), Infectious myonecrosis, Taura syndrome and
White tail disease, and for the public interest and for the health and safety
of the consumer to prevent the importing of shrimp from being refused and not
allowed into the Kingdom markets, the Committee would like to inform all
importers of food of the suspension of
the importing of frozen Shrimp from Ecuador until the stability of the health
situation, and excludes:
Frozen
and decaffeinated products (except for the tail of the shrimp including the
tail). All consignments shall be examined in a virtual and laboratory manner.
Products
prepared for direct human consumption (for example, for barbecuing, frying or
any other method of cooking).
Thermally
treated products to ensure the elimination of viruses in the methods described
in article 9.3.3 of the Aquatic Animal Health Manual in the recommendations of
the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
